首先是家具，甲醛可以說是家具中最主要的污染物。各類家具所使用的材料、油漆、黏合劑均含有一定量的甲醛，長期作用于人體會產生很多不良反應，如對人眼和呼吸系統有強烈的刺激作用，是導致癌癥、胎兒畸形等的潛在威脅物。
其次是地板，由于甲醛具有極強的黏合性，還具有加強板材硬度及防蟲、防腐的功能，很適合地板使用。消費者在購買木質地板時一定要注意這點，不要一味追求無甲醛，其實甲醛含量達標的產品對人身體的危害還是很小的。另外，現在還出現一些“零甲醛”產品，其實這是不太可能的。所以最好在購買時詢問清楚，所謂“零甲醛”的含義，到底是完全不含甲醛還是甲醛含量在無害范圍之內，不要被商家的宣傳手法所蒙蔽。
